A key light heavyweight battle is being targeted for June’s ‘UFC Fight Night 69’ event in Berlin, as Swedish website Kimura.se is reporting that a fight between former title challengers Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira is being setup by UFC officials.
Alexander Gustafsson (16-3 MMA) was last seen in action at January’s ‘UFC on FOX 14’ event in Sweden, where he suffered a first-round TKO loss to Anthony Johnson in front of a sold out home crowd. Prior to the setback, “The Mauler” was coming off a second-round TKO victory which he earned over Jimi Manuwa in March of 2014.
Meanwhile, Glover Teixeira (22-4 MMA) will be looking to snap the first 2-fight losing skid of his career when he faces Gustafsson this June. Teixeira was most recently seen in action at October’s UFC 179 event, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Phil Davis. Prior to that, Glover had suffered a 5-round beatdown at the hands of current UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at UFC 172 in Baltimore.
UFC Fight Night 69 takes place June 20 live from 02 World Berlin Arena in Germany.
