The lightweight division undertook a serious makeover this week. A title contender’s matchup was altered when Khabib Nurmagomedov was forced out of his fight with Donald Cerrone. Diego Sanchez announced he was moving down to featherweight and now Jorge Masvidal is looking to switch to welterweight.

Masvidal told UFC Tonight that he wants to put his controversial losses behind him and move to welterweight. Masvidal has fought as a welterweight many times throughout his career, but he has been a lightweight for his entire UFC run.
