Who’s ready for another throwback fighter to be re-signed by the UFC? Well, according to the Brazilian website, Globo, former UFC fighter and long-time MMA veteran Joe ‘Diesel’ Riggs will once again step into the octagon. The source claims that Mike Rhodes, who was scheduled to fight Paulo Thiago at UFC Fight Night 51: Bigfoot vs. Arlovsky 2 in September, has been injured and forced out of the fight. Now, Riggs will step in and make his return to the UFC.
Riggs recently won the first season of the show, Fight Master, when he defeated Mike Bronzoulis at Bellator 106. He is currently on a 6 fight win streak.
Meanwhile, his opponent, Paulo Thiago, has lost 6 of his last 8 fights. He also managed to sign a new 4-fight contract with the UFC in June.
