The UFC has announced the latest addition to the already stacked UFC on Fox 8 fight card; a women’s bantamweight bout between Liz Carmouche and Miesha Tate. Both fighters are eager to post their first career win inside the UFC Octagon, after falling short in their recent debuts.
Miesha Tate (13-4), a former Strikeforce bantamweight champion, is looking to rebound from a third round TKO loss to number one contender Cat Zingano in April. She was ahead on the cards two rounds to none before Zingano rallied with an impressive comeback knockout. Their performances earned the women additional $50,000 Fight Of The Night bonuses.
Liz Carmouche (8-3) is coming off a first round submission loss to champion Ronda Rousey in the first ever UFC women’s title fight. The former United States Marine Corps helicopter technician is currently ranked #4 in the UFC’s official rankings, one spot behind #3 ranked opponent Miesha Tate.
UFC on Fox 8 takes place on July 27th at the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington.
