A key middleweight bout will headline July’s UFC Fight Night event in Scotland, as UFC officials recently announced that Michael Bisping and Thales Leites will square off in the evening’s main event slot.
Michael Bisping (26-7 MMA) was last seen in action at April’s UFC 186 event, where he earned a unanimous decision victory over C.B. Dollaway. Prior to that, “The Count” was coming off a submission loss to Luke Rockhold, which occured in November of 2014.
Meanwhile, former UFC title challenger Thales Leites (25-4 MMA) will be looking to extend his current win streak to nine in a row when he faces Bisping in Glasgow. The 33-year-old Brazilian is coming off a submission win over Tim Boetsch, which he earned at January’s UFC 183 event in Las Vegas. Since returning to the UFC in August of 2013, Leites has gone 5-0 with three stoppage wins to his credit.
UFC Fight Night 72 takes place July 18 live from SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. The event is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
