Joe Riggs once again has a date set for his return to the UFC. Earlier this year it was announced that Riggs would be making his return to the UFC, but earlier this summer a gun accident left Riggs in the hospital receiving a blood transfusion after being shot in the hand and leg.
Now Riggs is ready to step back in the cage, and will do so at UFC on Fox 13 on December 13th from Phoenix, Arizona against Ben Saunders. The UFC announced this bout through UFC.com.
Riggs has been on a tear as of late, winning 6-fights in a row, including Bellator’s Fight Master reality show.
Saunders on the other hand is coming off a win in his return to the UFC. In the bout Saunders finished the fight via Omoplata, making him the first fighter in UFC history to win a bout via Omoplata, and earning him praise from WWE superstar CM Punk.
The lineup for UFC on Fox 13 is currently as follows:
Junior dos Santos vs. Stipe Miocic
Alistair Overeem vs. Stefan Struve
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Matt Mitrione
Drew Dober vs. Jamie Varner
Derek Brunson vs. Ed Herman
Bryan Barberena vs. Joe Ellenberger
Joe Riggs vs. Ben Saunders
