The fight was expected to go down on this card, but now it’s confirmed by the UFC.

UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will defend his title for the first time against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192 in Houston, TX.

UFC 192 goes down on Oct. 3 at the Toyota Center in Houston. The prelims will air on Fight Pass and FOX Sports 1, with the main event, headlined by the title fight, will air on PPV.

This will be Cormier’s first title defense and Gustafsson’s second shot at UFC gold. He lost to Jon Jones, just like Cormier did, and most recently lost to Anthony Johnson via first round KO.
