The UFC is scheduled to hold a total of 45 events in this the 2015 calendar year.
With that said, UFC President Dana White doesn’t foresee a decline in the number of events the organization will host each year.
In fact, Mr. White believes there will be a demand for even more events going forward:
“There’s no such thing as diluting the product,” White said in a recent interview with Sportsnet’s “Tim and Sid” show. “We just did a show last Saturday night in Scotland that was insane. It was sold out, we broke records, and we continue to do that all over the world. We’re building a brand, we’re building a sport, and there’s still a lot of work to do.”
Dana White has heard the cries from critics who say the UFC’s schedule is much to busy, but he believes the demand to run more shows outweighs any complaints:
“ESPN covers us on a regular basis now even though we’re on FOX in the United States and all the other TV deals we have around the world,” White said. “You can’t build a sport and have five shows a year. You can’t do it. We have to continue to put on more shows, and we have to continue to put on more shows around the world. There are places that are starving to have the UFC come back. There’s actually not enough supply for the demand.”
