UFC featherweight Conor McGregor (14-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has been making headlines ever since he signed with ZUFFA earlier this year. McGregor made his octagon debut in April, where he scored a 67-second TKO  victory over Marcus Brimage in Sweden.

The Irish born fighter was most recently seen in action at the “UFC Fight Night 26” event in Boston, where he out-pointed Max Holloway on route to a decision win. Unfortunately for fans of the “Notorious” one, McGregor suffered a torn ACL in the process of defeating Holloway, putting him on the shelf until Spring 2014.

The injury has not dampered the Irishman’s spirit, as he recently told BloodyElbow that his goal is to still wear UFC gold:

I honestly believe I can predict the future, and I see the gold around my waist. So, whoever has the gold at that time I’m coming to take it.

Currently Jose Aldo has it. I feel more than confident that I can cause him trouble. I’m bigger than him. I’m faster than him, and I believe he’s less spontaneous. He’s more basic. I don’t see anything that jumps off the page when I look at him compete, or any of the guys when I look at them compete.

McGregor also stated that he is modeling his recovery after St. Pierre’s, and that he is currently ahead of schedule and feels he could be back to fighting inside the Octagon in eight months.
