Last Friday, the UFC’s latest Olympic Gold Medalist acquisition, Henry Cejudo (pictured) botched his Octagon debut with a failed weight cut.
Having won Olympic gold at 121 lbs., the undefeated MMA fighter was expected to make an immediate impact in the UFC’s 125 pound division. However, after failing to make weight, Dana White told the fighter to either move up to bantamweight, or leave the UFC.
Through MMAFighting.com, Cejudo’s manager released the following:
“Henry is absolutely interested in competing in the UFC and will be happy to move to 135 pounds.”
