UFC women’s bantamweight title contender, Cat Zingano (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC), finally got some good news following her latest visit with her physician, who revealed that “Alpha” was cleared to resume jiu-jitsu training, as well as light pad work, with full clearance expected for March 1, 2014.

Naturally, Zingano was thrilled by the news (via mmamania.com):

“Got the news today! I am cleared to train BJJ again and can do light pad work! Two more injections by Dr. Fady Elias of Orthoregeneration.com and im good to start sparring again March 1st! Heck yeah!!”

Zingano defeated former Strikeforce champ Miesha Tate back in April, which earned her a coaching gig opposite Ronda Rousey on season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter. Unfortunately for “Alpha,” she blew out her knee in preperation for TUF:18 and was forced to go under the knife to repair her ACL. That surgery not only allowed Miesha Tate to take over as TUF coach, but also gave “Cupcake” a title shot against Ronda Rousey at UFC 168 later this month.

Now that Zingano has a rough timetable for her return, she will focus her attention towards the winner of Tate vs. Rousey 2, which goes down December 28 at UFC 168 in Las Vegas.
