Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort has been around MMA for quite some time, and has seen many trash talkers in his day.
Given that, he believes that once UFC interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor loses, he will be forgotten.
Belfort spoke to Combate:
“Trash talkers always existed, since the Tank Abbott days. Conor is winning, but once he’s not, his name will be forgotten. An athlete must be respected like Big Nog was. He retired but he is in the history of the sport, because he’s humble. MMA needs to be more sport and less entertainment. This is not WWE. We must remember that there are families and children watching. Conor McGregor goes over the line.”
