Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira’s (34-8-1 MMA, 5-4 UFC) recent arm surgery was apparently a “big success” and the former UFC and Pride champion is already planning his next bout, which he would like to be in December against fellow heavyweight Stefan Struve (25-6 MMA, 9-4 UFC).
“Big Nog” was forced to go ‘under the knife’ for an arm injury for the second time in as many years, this after Fabricio Werdum (17-5-1 MMA, 5-2 UFC) submitted him with a second-round armbar at UFC on FUEL TV 10 causing ligament damage.
Meanwhile, it was just a week ago when Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve took to twitter to express his interest in fighting the Brazilian legend. Struve is coming off a brutal knockout loss to Mark Hunt at the UFC on FUEL TV: Silva vs. Stann event, which left the Dutchman with a severely broken jaw.
UFC officials have yet to comment or confirm any potential plans on matching up the two heavyweights. But, that hasn’t stopped ‘Minotauro’ from delivering Struve the following message:
“The bigger they are, the harder they fall.”
Is a heavyweight clash between “Big Nog” and the “Skyscraper” a fight you would like to see? Let’s hear it Penn Nation!
