Two days ago the world was left in shock after Anderson Silva lost his second straight fight.
It wasn’t the fact that he lost his rematch against Chris Weidman, but rather how he lost the bout.
In the second round Anderson Silva received what could be a career ending injury when Chris Weidman checked a low kick and sent Silva to the mat with a severely broken left leg.
Silva was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and missed the post-fight press conference and media circus following the UFC 168 event.
The former champ recently took to his personal Instagram with the following message:
Translation: “I want to thank all my fans and friends for their support and caring messages, I’m fine now and I need to be with my family, a good rest with my children and wife will help me in recovery. Thanks Brazil.”
