Ross Pearson Talks UFC 191 Win: ‘I Didn’t Want To Go Crazy’

In a fight that a lot of fans were excited for, UFC lightweights Paul Felder and Ross Pearson fought in the night’s featured prelim bout. Both are known for their striking.

Indeed it was a striking match for a good portion of the fight. They stood and struck with each other, but both man seemed to have trouble putting together and significant combos or strikes. Especially Felder who seemed to hold back and unable to pull the trigger.

Pearson ultimately got the split decision in a close bout and attributes the win to his patience inside the cage, something that he’s been working on.

Here’s what he said at the post fight press conference:

“I didn’t want to just go in there and all crazy and get caught. It’s happened in the past. That’s probably some of the reasons why I’ve gone win, loss, win, loss, win, loss. I get a little reckless at times, a little too eager to knock someone out. That’s probably my own downfall.

“So it was definitely hard to stay patient, stay relaxed. But it got the win. It got the job done, and we had a good fight.”
