This past Saturday at UFC 196, Conor McGregor was submitted by Nate Diaz in the 2nd round of their welterweight main events scrap. The win was a huge one for Diaz, who stated in his post-fight Octagon speech that he wasn’t surprised by the win.
Two days later the WWE held its weekly installment of Monday Night Raw, where commentator Michael Cole threw a verbal jab at Conor McGregor for being submitted.
In addition, WWE commentator John Layfield, who was in attendance at UFC 196, took a bit of a verbal jab at McGregor as a WWE diva was thrown into a barricade and he proclaimed “it was like what happened to Conor McGregor on Saturday night.”
In the video above you can see Sasha Banks submitting her opponent, which is when Michael Cole stated “This is what happened to McGregor! Tap out!”
