Luke Rockhold became the UFC’s middleweight champion this past December when he stopped Chris Weidman in the co-main event of UFC 194.
Rockhold and Weidman were set to rematch at next month’s UFC 199 event in Los Angeles, however, Chris was forced to withdraw from the fight after he suffered a neck injury.
Stepping in on short-notice to replace Weidman at UFC 199 is Michael Bisping. “The Count” is coming off the biggest win of his mixed martial arts career, as he defeated former champ Anderson Silva via decision in his last octagon appearance.
Rockhold and Bisping have met inside the octagon once before, with Luke winning that fight by way of second-round submission.
