The UFC 217 pre-fight press conference took place on Thursday ahead of the stacked fight card taking place this weekend at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
UFC 217 features three title fights. UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping will take on Georges St-Pierre in the former welterweight champion’s first fight back since 2013. UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt faces former teammate and former champion TJ Dillashaw and UFC women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk looks to tie Ronda Rousey‘s UFC record for most consecutive female title defenses against Rose Namajunas.
All six UFC 217 title fight competitors were in attendance and answered questions from the media during the press conference. Following the question and answer portion of the event, UFC President Dana White had the title fight opponents come together for a staredown.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk made White jump a bit when she took off her glasses to stare Namajunas in the eyes when they were face to face. Rose showed very little emotion or reaction during the staredown as Joanna was talking to her. Unfortunately, White’s reaction time was off as Joanna kissed her fist and placed it right on Joanna’s face and then walked off to pose for the audience in attendance.
Garbrandt and Dillashaw traded words as their rivalry will be settled on Saturday night as did Bisping and St-Pierre who had a smile on for most of their staredown. When faced toward the audience, St-Pierre raised his hands to the crowd and Bisping responded by flipping Georges the middle finger.
