Ronda Rousey is out enjoying married life and a new co-owner position at a supplement company. However, the fans still want to know what the future holds for the former UFC champion. Even if MMA is out of the question, the idea that she may transition to pro wrestling has been teased for a long time. It all started back when she appeared at Wrestlemania at the height of her career to Judo throw Triple H. Now that her friend and Four Horsewomen member Shayna Baszler had entered the fold, it’s been more and more likely that she’ll sign on as well. She’s still mum on the subject, but hinted she doesn’t want to ruin anything.
“If you were a real [wrestling] fan, would you really want to know [if I was making my debut]? No, you wouldn’t. My best friends that are out there wrestling, like Shayna [Baszler], I don’t ever even want her to tell me anything that will ever happen [in the WWE] because I enjoy it more that way and I don’t want to ruin anything. We are at a crossroads and we have the luxury of time.” – Ronda Rousey to TMZ.
One thing is for sure, Rousey does have the luxury of time. While in the UFC, it was always what is next and how soon. Now, despite everyone waiting with bated breath about her pro wrestling decision, there is no rush for her. The stress of being a UFC fighter at the top has to be incredibly taxing. For now, Rousey is just chilling out and it’s us who have to wait to see what her decision will be.
“First of all, [Ronda Rousey]’s got to stop throwing me around the ring. The last time I was in the ring with her, Ronda threw threw me from one side to the other. I didn’t like that very much. Ronda is a huge fan. That’s not been a secret, that’s where the ‘Rowdy’ Ronda comes from. She’s definitely interested and we’re having conversations. I’ll say it right here on ESPN, if she wants the opportunity [to wrestle for the WWE] I’d be willing to give it to her.” – Triple H speaking to ESPN back in August.
