Reebok has a paid sponsorship with the UFC and both parties have to make sure they uphold their part of the deal to keep each other happy.

Over the weekend at UFC Fight Night 124, which took place at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri, referee Mario Yamasaki was wearing a polo shirt that happened to have a Nike logo on his sleeve. For the fights where Yamasaki was the referee, he was the only other person in the Octagon along with the two competitors in the cage where there were obviously some times that a lot of eyes were on him.

When the FS1 prelims fight between James Krause and Alex White came to an end, Yamasaki was in front of the camera for the announcement of the winner of the bout. The fight went to a judge’s decision where Krause ended up taking a unanimous decision win and a UFC official was seen placing a piece of tape over Yamasaki’s shirt logo.

It’s not clear if it was a call made by someone from the UFC to cover up Yamasaki’s shirt logo or if someone from Reebok pointed it out to an official from the UFC and wanted something done. In the end, Nike’s logo was covered up but the Twitter account @MarsHerns caught the moment that many people are talking about days after the fight.
