The #1 UFC ranked lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov does not care who he fights next. The only thing that is important to the undefeated Russian fighter is that he fights for the UFC lightweight title next.
However, with Conor McGregor being the current UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, “The Eagle” told TMZ just what he wants to do to “The Notorious” if they meet in the Octagon next.
“I want to take him down, speak with him. You know, slap him, make him nervous,” Nurmagomedov said. “Like, ‘Hey, get up. Let’s go. Where is your boxing?’ You know, slap him, play with him and make him give up.”
The 24-0 UFC lightweight is coming off a finish over Michael Johnson and says that he does not want to finish McGregor if and when they do fight.
“This is what I want,” Nurmagomedov stated. “But, I don’t want to finish him like, first round, second round, third round. I want to fight with him 25 minutes, like five rounds. I want to make him look very bad. This is what I want to do. And finish his hype, you know?”
“The Eagle” also spoke of his backstage incident with McGregor where the two exchanged words and was more than ready to take care of business outside of the Octagon with the Irish superstar.
“I’m ready to go anytime,” Nurmagomedov said. “In Dagestan, I have a lot of fights in the street. This different place. This is not America. But, before when I was amateur, I have a lot of fights.”
