There are a lot of reasons to be excited for UFC 211, which goes down on Saturday, May 13 in the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
The undercard alone is packed with reasons to watch. We’ll see former WSOF champ Jessica “Jag” Aguilar get the fight she’s been chasing against Courtney Casey. We’ll see former two-division WSOF champion David Branch make his long-awaited return to the UFC opposite 19-1 Polish middleweight contender Krzysztof Jotko. We’ll see featherweight finishers Chas Skelly and Jason Knight battle in an early Fight of the Night contender. We’ll see former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez look to get back on track against the ever dangerous Dustin Poirier. And that’s just the undercard.
The main card will be kicked off by a compelling flyweight battle between recent title challenger Henry Cejudo and rising star Sergio Pettis. Next up is a featherweight contender bout between former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar and red-hot prospect Yair Rodriguez. Then, we get a welterweight number-one-contender fight between Jorge Masvidal and Demian Maia. Next, it’s time for the co-main event: a strawweight title fight between dominant champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk and challenger Jessica Andrade.
And then, finally, there’s the main event – perhaps the most exciting feature of the card: a heavyweight title fight between reigning champ Stipe Miocic and former champion Junior Dos Santos.
Though Dos Santos has shown some signs of decline over the last few years, he recently burst back into UFC heavyweight title contention with a lopsided destruction of Ben Rothwell. And while he’s been identified as a sizeable underdog against Miocic – who he has beaten previously – he still posseses the skill and power to reclaim the belt.
Ahead of this anticipated UFC 211 heavyweight title fight, enjoy this epic compilation of Junior Dos Santos’ best moments in the Octagon.
Do you think he can reclaim gold this May?
