Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor weren’t the only two people to brawl in the fallout of UFC 229. Shortly after the main event fighters’ teams got into it in and around the Octagon, a handful of fans got into a violent brawl elsewhere inside the T-Mobile Arena, the host venue for the fight.

Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor by fourth-round submission in the UFC 229 event. Given the massive fanbases of both fighters, the trash talk and emotion leading up to the fight itself, and the amount of alcohol that was gushing through the arena, it’s not the least bit surprising that the violence spilled out of the cage and into the stands.

In fact, this wasn’t the first instance of fan violence to occur during UFC 229 fight week. At the card’s ceremonial weigh in ceremony, a group of fans began fighting in the crowd.

With this submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, Conor McGregor is now 21-4 overall. His next most recent MMA fight occurred in November of 2016, when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez to win the UFC lightweight belt. Because he still held the UFC featherweight title at the time, this made him the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes simultaneously.

Khabib Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, is now a baffling 27-0 overall. He can now look forward to a long-awaited showdown with former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson — that is, depending on the kind of suspension he receives for jumping the cage and attacking McGregor’s corner post-fight.
