VIDEO | Dana White says Ronda Rousey simply doesn’t have it anymore

Dana White Ronda Rousey Q&A

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was once thought of as unbeatable force that many fans and pundits believed would go down as the greatest fighter to ever live.

However, Ronda Rousey’s world turned upside down on November 14, 2015 when she stepped into the Octagon to face former boxing world champion Holly Holm. Holm shocked Rousey and her massive following when she knocked Rousey out in the second round of their UFC 193 title fight in Melbourne, Australia.

Following the the bout with Holm, Rousey took over a year off from fighting to work on some movie projects and to recover from the first loss of her career and was offered to fight the current UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes at UFC 207. Rousey would taste defeat once again, losing to the hard-hitting champion by TKO in the first round, putting the former champ on a two-fight losing skid.

Dana White recently spoke with TMZ on the future of Ronda Rousey, and the UFC President, who has a close relationship with the former champion, feels that her time has simply passed.

Dana White Ronda Rousey Q&A

“Well, it’s no different than any other sport,” White said. “I mean, when you’re a professional athlete and you’re performing at a certain level, the day comes when you don’t anymore, you know? It happened to Ronda and a lot of people have, had their comments on why and everything else. Who knows why? I don’t know why.

“This sport is very, very tough man. You have to stay on top of your game and it’s a young man and young woman’s sport. And, throughout the history of time and fighting, one day you just show up and you don’t have it anymore. It’s always happened that way. You never know when it’s gonna come. It just creeps up on you and it’s a rough sport.”

Do you think Ronda Rousey just simply does not have what it takes anymore to compete with the best in the UFC anymore? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comment section!
