There is no denying that UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor sparked the power walk to become a part of pop culture today.

However, “The Notorious” got his strut from watching the WWE’s Vince McMahon and his style but is now taking all the glory in the spotlight with the classic movement.

During his own pay-per-view interview that took place in Manchester, England on Saturday, McGregor was interviewed by MMA journalist Ariel Helwani and the subject of the power walk was brought up by Helwani.

“Marc Gasol of the Mephis Grizzlies starts doing the strut,” Helwani said (starting at 7:43 of the video). “Justin Bieber, Pogba, this becomes a thing that is being seen everywhere. Does that blow your mind? Cause you’ve been doing that for a few fights, right? And then all of a sudden, after New York, it became a part of pop culture. What are you thinking when you see this everywhere, like massive stars imitating you?”

“I’m thinking Vince McMahon must be pissed,” McGregor said smiling. “But, I don’t give a f**k about Vince McMahon! I stole that walk and that walk is now mine! And not Vince, or any of those pussies over in the WWE will do anything about it!

“That’s my walk. I created that walk. I made that walk.”

With other stars in different sports from the NBA to soccer imitating the walk, McGregor brought it back down a notch and said that he was astonished to see his reach crossing over to different groups and genres.

“Look, I don’t know. It’s amazing to see, it’s amazing to cross into that. All diffferent cultures, all different sports, all the NFL players, all the NBA players, all the football players.”
