It was revealed on Tuesday evening that a bill had been passed in New York that moved MMA one step closer to being fully legalized. The bill now moves to the desk of New York governor Andrew Cuomo, who has expressed his interest to sign it in the past.
Needless to say, this was a big win for the MMA community, and everyone was thrilled. UFC VP of Public Relations Dave Sholler was caught on top of his desk celebrating, while UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta toasted with ZUFFA employees.
New York’s very own Chris Weidman was thrilled to say the least, and spoke in an interview with Karyn Bryant about MMA’s legalization in New York, as well as his upcoming UFC 199 rematch with Luke Rockhold.
