At UFC 195, Carlos Condit was on the wrong end of a split decision that saw Robbie Lawler retain the UFC middleweight championship in what many consider to be one of the most controversial decisions in UFC history.

Prior to the fight, Condit revealed that he may very well be closing in on retirement after the fight. Following the bout, Condit admitted that he likely wouldn’t return to the Octagon unless it was for a rematch with Lawler.

The UFC ended up booking Lawler vs. Tyron Woodley for UFC 201, and Carlos Condit’s future in the UFC was in question even more so.
