the power failures at the ACB event are frustrating but the sound is really scary 😮 pic.twitter.com/VW3IAchmTh

Over the weekend, rising Russian promotion Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB) touched down in Brazil with ACB 73. While the card generated plenty of anticipation among hardcore fight fans, it was unfortunately marred by repeated power outlets at the venue, the Miécimo da Silva Sports Complex in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
See some footage of the power going out in the middle of a fight above. Apparently, this was not the only time this occurred.
ACB 73 was headlined by a scrap between Russia’s Islam Makoev and Brazilian UFC veteran Leandro Silva, which Silva won with a unanimous decision. Like this main event, the rest of the card featured exclusively Brazilian and Russian talent.
While 7 of the 16 fights on the bill ended by way of knockout or TKO, the feeling seems to be that it didn’t deliver quite the level of excitement that was hoped for.
I desire to see “lights out” KO not lights out caused by power failure. We haven’t decent KO during this weekend yet and this is frustrating

With ACB 73 in the rear-view, ACB will head to Sweden for its next show. The jet-setting promotion has also visited China and Canada in recent weeks.
