Back in December of 2015 Nate Diaz made his emphatic return to the Octagon as he picked up a dominant unanimous decision win over Michael Johnson at UFC on FOX 17. During his post-fight Octagon interview Diaz put Conor McGregor on blast saying: “Conor McGregor you’re taking everything I’ve worked for motherf**ker. I’m gonna fight your f**king ass.”
Several months later Diaz’s opportunity to fight McGregor came after Rafael dos Anjos withdrew from his UFC 196 title bout with McGregor. Diaz stepped in on less than 2 weeks notice and submitted McGregor in the second round.
In the wake of the fight, undefeated boxer Andre Ward, who trains with the Diaz Brothers, spoke in an interview about the fight, as well as the Diaz Brothers elite level boxing skills.
