UFC featherweight Yair Rodriguez was involved in what can only be described as “one of the greatest fights in UFC history” last night in Denver.
It was only fitting that his epic five-round war with The Korean Zombie headlined the promotions 25th anniversary event.
“El Pantera” and Chan Sung Jung went back and fourth for twenty-four minutes and fifty-nine seconds before Rodriguez landed a spectacular elbow that put the Zombie on ice.
The finish was absolutely mind numbing and caused a plethora of fighter reactions on social media.
Today, Yair Rodriguez was released from the hospital and shortly after posted the following lengthy statement on his official Instagram account.

“An image says more than a thousand words. @ufcespanol @ufc
Thanks to my team working with my brother @rigo_babyface_rodriguez for being the one who puts me in my place when I need it, I respect the older brother who has never let me down and regardless of the circumstances he is always there.
@izzystylewrestling is that coach that you think is crazy, just for having a mentality stronger than others and for having the mentality of a champion, who has taught me both life and sports and to whom I owe a great part of my preparation as athlete and person.
@victordavilaufc is the one who, regardless of the circumstances, is willing to help and open the doors of his house for people like me who are searching for a dream. He is a guide that God put in my way to bless me by teaching me that there are still people of GREAT HEART!
@pedrocamberos_123 thanks for the work we have invested for my preparation and especially these last 2 weeks, you are one of the few who know why we went to get to this fight and this photo reflects what we had together as a team to get here!
@treigning_lab @jarchmma thanks for the excellent work to be 100% healthy to my fight! I swear that I had never had an easier weight cut, as well as my recovery before the fight. @jarchmma bro you where amazing I wish everyone could have a friend like you.
#ufc25years.
@tikighosn @monsterenergy #family @hansmolenkamp thank you for the trust!”
