A key women’s featherweight bout between former Invicta FC champions Megan Anderson and Felicia Spencer took place on the main card of tonight’s UFC Rochester event.
Megan Anderson (9-3 MMA) for the first time since December’s UFC 232 event in Los Angeles, where she scored a bizarre TKO victory over Cat Zingano.
Anderson has gone 1-1 under the UFC banner, suffering a decision loss to Holly Holm in her promotional debut.
Meanwhile, Felicia Spencer (6-0 MMA) will make her octagon debut at tonight’s UFC Rochester event. Spencer most recently competed this past November at Invicta FC 32, where she scored a fourth round submission victory over Pam Sorenson – capturing the promotions vacant featherweight title in the process.
Round one begins and Anderson takes the center of the cage and moves forward. She lands a nice right hand from distance early. Spencer needs to close the distance and does. She presses Megan against the cage. Good knees from Felicia Spencer. She continues to assault the left thigh of Anderson. Felicia gets the fight to the floor and immediately takes Anderson’s back. Felicia is looking to lock in a rear-naked choke. Megan is defending well but just as I say that Felicia flattens her out. Good right hands from Spencer. Megan Anderson gets free of one Spencer’s hooks. She tries to buck Felicia off but Spencer is wise to it. More big punches from Felicia Spencer here. She locks in a rear-naked choke and this one is all over. Wow! First round submission finish over Megan Anderson.
