A key bantamweight bout between top contenders Marlon Moraes and Raphael Assuncao headlined tonight’s UFC Fortaleza event.
Marlon Moraes entered tonight’s UFC Fortaleza main event on a three fight win streak. His latest effort saw him destroy Jimmie Rivera back in June of 2018.
Meanwhile, Raphael Assuncao enters tonight’s headliner on a four-fight win streak. In his most recent outing this past July, Assuncao defeated Rob Font via decision.
Assuncao and Moraes first met at UFC 212, with Raphael emerging victorious via a controversial split-decision.
Round one begins and Assuncao works his jab to start. Moraes lands a hard low kick and then another. The fighters trade jabs and Marlon lands another low kick. Huge overhand right from Moraes rocks Assuncao. Marlon chases him to the ground and begins working some big punches. Assuncao attempts to scramble and Marlon grabs a guillotine. This is tight. Assuncao is forced to tap. Wow!
