UFC 234, the promotion’s first pay-per-view of the year, is just around the corner.
This card, which goes down in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday night, will be headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Robert Whittaker and challenger Kelvin Gastelum.
The co-main event, meanwhile, will also occur at middleweight, as MMA legend Anderson Silva takes on a venomous striker not unlike himself in the young, hungry Israel Adesanya.
Ahead of this card, the oddsmakers seem to have great confidence in both a successful Robert Whittaker title defense and a victory for Israel Adesanya.
The latest UFC 234 odds have Whittaker pegged as a -250 favorite over the +210 underdog Kelvin Gastelum. This means that a successful $250 bet on Whittaker would earn you $100, while a successful $100 bet on Gastelum would win you $210.
Adesanya, meanwhile, is a massive, -670 favorite (bet $670 to win $100) over Anderson Silva, who is sitting at +485 (bet $100 to win $485).
All this to say, the oddsmakers seem very confident Whittaker will leave the arena with his belt and Adesanya will successfully cannibalize the former champion Anderson Silva.
