UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo is not just a tremendous fighter but also an interesting character.
While some members of the MMA community find his personality charming, however, not everybody is on board with it. File former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley into that latter group.
Woodley sounded off on Cejudo on a recent episode of The Hollywood Beatdown.
“Henry Cejudo, sit down somewhere, dog,” Woodley said (transcript via MMA News). “Sit down somewhere; you’re annoying everybody.
“He is a phenomenal fighter. It’s amazing that he’s been able to win an Olympic gold medal, which is more important to me than a UFC belt, because it’s the hardest thing that you can do in combat sports,” Woodley added, praising the accomplishments of Henry Cejudo. “He beat Demetrious Johnson, a pound for pound legend, won a belt in two divisions. So what I’m saying is that his resume is crazy in a very short period of time. But when you start doing that extra stuff, oof, just stop.”
One issue Tyron Woodley seemed to take issue with was the costume Henry Cejudo wore to the UFC 238 pre-fight media day. He thinks UFC’s newest two-division champion would be wise to real in the theatrics a little bit.
“Hey, man, you a beast,” he said. “Keep killing it. Keep it up in the Octagon. Tone down the extra-ness by like 10. Take it down 10, and you set.”
