A lightweight scrap between Charles Oliveira and Nik Lentz took place on the main card of tonight’s UFC Rochester event.
Tonight’s bout marked the third time that Lentz and Oliveira have collided inside the octagon.
The pair first met at ‘UFC Live 4’ but the fight was ruled a no-contest due to an illegal knee.
‘The Carny’ and ‘Do Bronx’ would run it bacon in May of 2015, with Charles Oliveira emerging victories by way of submission.
Nik Lentz (30-9 MMA) entered tonight’s contest on a two-fight win streak, his latest being a decision victory over Scott Holtzman.
Meanwhile, Charles Oliveira (26-8 MMA) came into UFC Rochester sporting a four-fight win streak, with all four of those wins coming via submission. The Brazilian has submitted David Teymur in his most previous octagon appearance.
Tonight’s trilogy bout nearly came to an end in the opening round when Charles Oliveira locked in a guillotine choke. Lentz went on to survive to see round two, but may have wished he hadn’t. In the second frame Oliveira landed a beautiful straight right which sent Lentz crashing to the canvas. After the Brazilian followed up with some hammer fists, the referee had no choice but to step in and call a stop to the contest.

That was Charles Oliveira's first knockout victory in his 24th UFC fight. His last knockout victory came in 2010.
