England’s ‘Meatball’ Molly returns at UFC on ESPN+ 5 in London

Molly McCann, Priscila Cachoeira

Former Cage Warriors champion “Meatball” Molly McCann will face Priscila Cachoeira at UFC on ESPN+ 5 in London on Mar. 16. The flyweight matchup was first reported by Combate and later confirmed by the UFC.

McCann (7-2) will be searching for her first UFC victory after dropping her debut against Gillian Robertson at UFC Fight Night 130 in May. The loss not only snapped her six-fight win streak, but she missed weight by one pound over the 126-pound flyweight limit.

Prior to that, the England native had finished three of her last six opponents. The 28-year-old has never lost two-straight fights in her career.

Cachoeira (8-1) also came up short losing a one-sided submission loss to Valentina Shevchenko at UFC Fight Night 125. The most notable part of that loss was referee Mario Yamasaki’s late stoppage in the bout which garnered a significant amount of criticism. Prior to that setback, “Pedrita” was undefeated winning seven-straight fights.

The Brazilian fighter was slated to make her UFC debut last December against Lauren Murphy, however visa issues forced her off the card. Like her opponent, Cachoeira has never lost two-straight fights.

UFC on ESPN+ 5 takes place March 16 at The O2 Arena in London, England. No other matchups have been added to the card.
