Leon Edwards is currently 7-fight win-streak in the stacked UFC welterweight division, but he still hasn’t managed to crack the division’s top-10 rankings. He’s hoping that changes sometime soon.
Speaking on his Twitter account over the weekend, a visibly frustrated Edwards called for a top-5 opponent in his next outing.
My next fight should be against anyone in the top 5 and after beating them I’ll win the @ufc world title #destiny #pathtochampionship #Mrdoitall pic.twitter.com/XfnGh3XoRv

“My next fight should be against anyone in the top 5 and after beating them I’ll win the UFC world title,” Leon Edwards wrote in his first Tweet on the subject.

How many more blood must be shed before u give me the fight I want,” Edwards continued.
Leon Edwards then called for one matchup specifically: a late summer showdown with former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos.

“The fight to make for August or early September I would school this midget,” he wrote in a post that included a photo of dos Anjos.
As mentioned above, Leon Edwards has rattled off seven-straight victories since his last setback — a decision defeat at the hands of current welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
Highlights of this impressive string of victories include wins over Vicente Luque, Bryan Barberena, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, and most recently, long-time Icelandic contender Gunnar Nelson, who he defeated by decision at UFC London.
After his victory at UFC London, Edwards was involved in a post-fight brawl with main event winner Jorge Masvidal. This backstage altercation looked like it was going to lead to a legitimate fight between the two, but Masvidal was instead booked for a UFC 239 fight with Ben Askren, leaving Edwards without a dance partner.
Dos Anjos last fought in the main event of UFC Rochester, when he defeated Kevin Lee by fourth-round submission to correct a two-fight losing streak.
Does a fight between Leon Edwards and Rafael dos Anjos interest you? Who do you think would come out on top in this exciting welterweight matchup?
