Jon Jones issues statement after being denied license to fight in Nevada

Jon Jones, Israel Adesanya

Earlier this evening it was revealed that former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones had been flagged by USADA after trace amounts of the banned substance turinabol were found in “Bones” system.

With that said, the UFC has been forced to move Jones’ title fight with Alexander Gustafsson — and the entire UFC 232 card it is headlining — from Las Vegas, Nevada, to the Forum in Inglewood, California.

The shocking news spawned a ton of fighter reactions on Twitter, including a pair of messages from Jon Jones bitter rival Daniel Cormier.

The former UFC light heavyweight kingpin, Jones, immediately responded to “DC” on Instagram and Cormier fired right back.

Most recently, Jon Jones took to Twitter where he issued the following statement on USADA’s finding and the change in location for UFC 232.

“I’m focused on achieving my ultimate goal of reclaiming my Light Heavyweight title. I have willingly submitted to every USADA test in the lead up to this fight and USADA has confirmed what I’ve been saying all along, that I’m a clean athlete. I sincerely thank the California.”

“State Athletic Commission and Andy Foster for doing the right thing and supporting me through this process. I cannot wait to fight Alex Gustafsson this Saturday December 29th at the Los Angeles Forum in Inglewood.”

“Can’t bend me, can’t break me. #Champion2018”
