Back in January, UFC flyweight champion Henry Cejudo conquered a supremely tough test in former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, who he knocked out in less than a minute.

His next challenge will come in the form of Brazil’s Marlon Moraes, who he’ll meet for the vacant bantamweight title at UFC 238.

Speaking on a recent edition of Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, Henry Cejudo explained why he considers Marlon Moraes a more dangerous opponent than TJ Dillashaw.

“Marlon Moraes is a lot more dangerous than TJ” Cejudo said (transcript via MMA News). “His biggest threat is his power. I mean, look at him. He’s knocked out three opponents in the first round. He’s got vicious power. And in MMA, that’s scary. That’s scary because it just takes one hit, one blow, and that’s it. But so do I. And I’m showing it. I’m getting better. And I’m stronger, and I’m faster. But in reality, Marlon Moraes is the number-one contender.”

Henry Cejudo also implied that Marlon Moraes would likely be the reigning UFC bantamweight champion if he’d had the opportunity to challenge the former champion TJ Dillashaw before Dillashaw vacated the belt.

“It’s probably only because (Dillashaw and Moraes) haven’t fought,” Cejudo said. “But in my eyes, Marlon’s the top guy, other than me.”
