When it was announced that Jon Jones would be allowed to fight at UFC 232 in California, despite trace amounts of turinabol turning up on several of his recent drug tests, a number of his fellow fighters piped up, questioning the integrity of the UFC and the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). After Daniel Cormier and Nate Diaz shared their thoughts on the issue, former UFC lightweight champ and current ONE Championship star Eddie Alvarez is now doing the same.

“We are not hitting balls or pucks,” he concluded, explaining that this issue is particularly important in a dangerous sport like MMA. “We are trying to damage a man’s head, a human head. Zero is the amount of drugs that should be allowed.”
Needless to say, Eddie Alvarez feels very strongly that fighters should not be allowed with any banned substances in their system whatsoever.
Alvarez is set to make his ONE Championship debut at ONE: A New Era on March 31 in Tokyo, Japan, where he’ll collide with the fearsome Timofey Nastyukhin. This bout will serve as part of the promotion’s anticipated lightweight Grand Prix.
