Corey Anderson to Joe Rogan: UFC gives Jon Jones ‘special treatment’

Corey Anderson, UFC Rio Rancho

Back in December, an anomaly on a Jon Jones drug test caused the entire UFC 232 card to be moved from Las Vegas to Los Angeles on a weeks’ notice. UFC light heavyweight contender Corey Anderson fought on that card, beating Ilir Latifi by unanimous decision, and was not exactly pleased about this last-minute inconvenience.

Given that this was not the first bit of drama caused by Jon Jones over the last few years, it should come as no surprise that Corey Anderson has some strong opinions on the UFC light heavyweight champ — and on the way he’s treated by the UFC.

Anderson shared his thoughts on these issues on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.

“They’re letting one person dictate it all,” Anderson told Joe Rogan (transcript Bloody Elbow). “We’re all equal. Right now, they’re treating us like a number. He’s Jon Jones, but we’re number 4,722. I don’t like that. He’s Jon, I’m Corey. If I’m the champ, I don’t want this.

“I don’t want no special treatment. If you tell me ‘Sign up ahead of time and keep your schedule,’ I expect that. If we get down to the scale first come, first serve, if I show up late, put me in the order I am. Don’t put me up front because I’m the champ.”

What do you think of this conversation between Corey Anderson and Joe Rogan? Do you think the UFC gives Jon Jones preferential treatment?
