Conor McGregor reacts to Max Holloway’s victory over Brian Ortega

Former UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and current division title holder Max Holloway are two of the promotions biggest stars.

The UFC standouts have actually squared off in the past, with Conor McGregor emerging victorious by way of unanimous decision. That fight took place over five years ago, at UFC Fight Night 26 in Boston.

In the five years that have past since his victory over the Hawaiian, Conor McGregor has established himself as one of the biggest sports figures in the entire world.

The brash Irishman defeated Jose Aldo in thirteen seconds at UFC 194 to become the UFC’s undisputed featherweight champion.

McGregor would later move up to 155-pounds, where he dethroned Eddie Alvarez, thus becoming the first man in UFC history to simultaneously hold two belts.

Conor McGregor finally made his long awaited octagon return at September’s UFC 229 event, but fell short in his attempt to dethrone current UFC lightweight kingpin Khabib Nurmagomedov.

During that same stretch of time, Max Holloway has put together an uber impressive thirteeen fight win streak.

The Hawaiian’s most recent win came yesterday evening in Toronto, where he TKO’d the previously undefeated Brian Ortega in the main event of UFC 231.

Holloway’s incredible perfomance against “T-City” spawned a plethora of praise from fans and fellow fighters on social media.

Many of those people actually dubbed Max Holloway as now being the greatest featherweight fighter in history.

While Conor McGregor admits he was very happy to see Max Holloway succeed at UFC 231, he made sure to point out his own accomplishments at 145-pounds.

McGregor’s comments echo that of of teammate Dillon Danis, who claimed that people were “doing Conor dirty” by suggesting Max Holloway is the greatest featherweight of all time.
