After being deprived of a shot at UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington is not happy with the UFC.
In fact, the streaking wrestling specialist is so frustrated that he’s dared UFC President Dana White to release him from his UFC contract.
“Let’s be honest… Dana, you don’t got the balls to release me,” Covington told MMA Fighting recently. “If you’re saying all of this stuff to the media, then release me. But you ain’t got the balls. You know I’m too valuable.
“They’re not going to do it,” he continued. “They realize my value now. They realize how valuable I am. They know that I sell. They know that every single fighter in the welterweight division wants to fight me. They know that I’m the draw right now at welterweight. I made this division relevant. The only reason people care about Woodley and care about Usman is because they say my name. I’m the relevant one in the division. No one cares about anybody else. They just want to see me fight anybody, it doesn’t matter who it is. So they’re screwing the fans over, they’re screwing the people, and the people are who make their business run. So it’s a big f*ck you to the fans.”
Colby Covington continued his tirade against Dana White on Twitter, criticizing the UFC boss for failing to deliver on the title shot he was promised.

“REAL MEN aren’t promise makers, they’re promise keepers,” Covington wrote on Twitter.
This last comment from Colby Covington generated a response from former ONE and Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren. He says it was Covington’s error to ever trust Dana White.
@ColbyCovMMA I realized you were dumb, but please please don’t tell me you were dumb enough to really trust Dana https://t.co/7wVIKicB5O

“[Colby Covington] I realized you were dumb, but please don’t tell me you were dumb enough to really trust Dana,” Ben Askren chided on Twitter.
