A new chapter in the book of sports started on Monday when the UFC released an official statement regarding the sale of the most prominent mixed martial arts promotion in the world. Zuffa also emailed the fighters on their roster a statement regarding the sale and the MMA community reacted in different ways.
Here is what some familiar names in mixed martial arts had to say regarding the $4 billion purchase of the UFC:

There are so many fighters, I don’t mind the mass email. I’ve had nothing but the best experience with the @UFC but excited for the future.

The Fertittas bought the UFC for 2 million 15 years ago. They sell it for 4 billion. Greatest ROI in sports history. Remarkable.

Biggest takeaway at the moment on this historic day for MMA: UFC fighters are worth more than we all thought. Hope they realize that, too.

Perfect time to change the revenue split to ➡️ 46% / 54% split to be equal to the other major sports.💰💰💰 #WeAllNeedToEat

1 single move that would change the sport for the best, literally overnight..
Match the revenue split to all major sports. (Close to 50/50)

4 bil… I was probably worth more and so was everyone else right?
— Al Iaquinta (@ALIAQUINTA) July 11, 2016
Since @UFC is about the brand and NOT the fighters I invite the new owners to release the 500 fighters under contract and start anew.
— Nathan Quarry (@NateRockQuarry) July 11, 2016
Congrats on the great investment years ago @danawhite @lorenzofertitta Looking forward to seeing the @ufc grow even more!

Deadly can't wait to see what % I'll get out of that 4 billion no more work for me going in to tell the boss to fuck himself

I feel bad for the hard-working Zuffa employees who have been lied to about the sale for months. Especially for any who lose their jobs now.
— Robert Sargent (@MMARising) July 11, 2016
UFC worth as much as Star Wars. Pretty damn crazy.
