Last night, the UFC touched down in frigid Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with UFC on Fox 26.
In the card’s main event, former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos picked up a dominant unanimous decision win over former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, establishing himself as one of the division’s hottest contenders in the process. In the co-main event, meanwhile, Team Alpha Male featherweight prospect Josh Emmett picked up the biggest win of his career thus far, flattening long-time contender Ricardo Lamas with a first-round left hook.
Elsewhere on the main card, we saw Santiago Ponzinibbio defeat “Platinum” Mike Perry by decision, and Glover Teixeira defeat Misha Cirkunov with first-round punches. On the undercard, finally, we saw big wins from Jan Blachowicz, Julian Marquez, Chad Laprise, Nordine Taleb, Alessio Di Chirico and Jordan Mein.
At present, fight purses for this 11-fight card have not yet been disclosed. We do, however, know how much each of the card’s 22 fighters took home for wearing Reebok.
Under the UFC’s athlete outfitting deal with Reebok, fighters are paid based on the amount of fights they’ve had in the UFC’s Octagon, and in the Zuffa-owned eras of Strikeforce (April 2011 and after) and WEC (January 2007 and after). Champions and title challengers, however, are paid $40,000 and $30,000 respectively, regardless of their experience in the aforementioned promotions. These are the two highest payouts possible under this UFC-Reebok partnership.
Under this framework, the card’s top earner were main event veterans Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos, who took home $20,000 apiece. The next biggest earner, meanwhile, was Ricardo Lamas, who pocketed $15,000.
