A middleweight bout between Thiago Santos and Kevin Holland kicked off tonight’s UFC 227 main card from Los Angeles.

Thiago Santos (17-6 MMA) entered tonight’s contest having won four of his past five fights, which included a second-round TKO victory over Anthony Smith.

Meanwhile, Kevin Holland came in to tonight’s fight sporting a record of 13-3 overall.

This fight delivered fireworks right from opening bell. Both men were able to connect with some heavy shots, including some fantastic kicks but neither man was able to score a finish.

After fifteen minutes of back and forth action it was clear that Thiago Santos had done enough to earn the victory.

With that said, UFC newcomer Kevin Holland will leave Los Angeles having earned everyone’s respect.
