UFC 218 Results: Drakkar Klose vs. David Teymur
A lightweight scrap between Drakkar Klose and David Teymur took place during tonight’s UFC 218 prelims on FS1.
Round one begins and Klose starts things off with a high kick which is blocked. Teymur replies with a nice low kick. Klose is chasing Teymur down early. David fires off a kick to the body. Klose misses with a low kick attempt. He throws up his hands and tells Teymur to bring it on. David with a nice low kick and then a left hand over the top. Herb Dean steps in and tells David he has to stop backing up. That was weird. We continue and Klose lands a kick to the body. David returns fire with one of his own. Teymur circles and then comes forward with a high kick. Klose avoids the strike and then leaps in with a combination. Teymur circles away from the fence and then lands a hard low kick. Klose misses with a right hand. He shoots in and scores a double leg takedown. Teymur is able to scramble back up to his feet almost immediately. He lands a kick to the body. Klose returns fire with a spinning back kick. Round one comes to an end.
Round two begins and Klose quickly closes the distance and throws a combination. Both men connect with kicks to the body. Teymur’s was much harder. David with a nice low kick and then another. Klose with a right hand. He charges in with a combination. Teymur circles off the cage and throws a high kick which is blocked. Klose looks to score a single leg takedown but it is not there. Drakkar seems very frustrated here. He throws his hands in the air but David just fires off another kick to the body. Teymur circles against the cage and then shoots in for a takedown of his own. Klose shrugs it off and then gets deep on a single leg of his own. He cant get the takedown. David catches him with a left. Klose is looking to close the distance. He shoots in but there is nothing there. Teymur with a straight left. He trips Klose and winds up in top position. Drakkar with some shots from the bottom but they aren’t doing much. Teymur with some short left hands. Klose responds with some elbows off of his back. Round two comes to an end.
Round three begins and David Teymur lands a head kick early. Klose appears to be ok. Drakkar’s corner told him he needs a finish in this round to win. Klose is pressing the action but he just can’t get a good hold of Teymur. An accidental eye poke from Teymur causes a brief pause in the action. We restart and Klose leaps in with a flying knee. He misses with a follow up body kick attempt. Klose lands a good combination that ends with a knee to the body. Teymur circles and then throws a high kick. It misses. Klose misses with a spinning wheel kick attempt. Teymur fires off a kick to the body that lands. Drakkar shoots in and scores a takedown. He needed that. He winds up in side control and lands an elbow. Teymur immediately scrambles and is able to get back up to his feet. One minute remains in the contest and Klose likely needs a finish. Drakkar misses with an uppercut. David shoots in but cannot secure the takedown. Twenty seconds left. Teymur lands a low kick. Klose with a right hand over the top. The horn sounds to end round three.
