The pay-per-view fight card, which takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York, is headlined by a middleweight title fight featuring current champion Michael Bisping taking on former welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre.
Prior to that, Bisping was coming off a first-round knockout victory over Luke Rockhold which earned “The Count” the UFC’s middleweight title.
“Rush” is currently riding a twelve fight win streak with includes victories over Nick Diaz, BJ Penn, Matt Serra, Matt Hughes, Thiago Alves, Jon Fitch, Jake Shields and Carlos Condit.
UFC 217 includes a total of three title fights.
In the co-main event of UFC 217 bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt will attempt to make his first title defense when he squares off with bitter rival and former division title holder TJ Dillashaw.
Also on the card is a women’s strawweight title fight featuring Rose Namajunas challenging long time title holder Joanna “Champion”.
