Injuries continue to surround Tony Ferguson as his originally scheduled UFC Fight Night 91 opponent, Michael Chiesa pulled out due to injury.
UFC officials confirmed the news of Chiesa’s withdrawal from the bout to MMA Junkie on Monday.
Ferguson is no stranger to bouts being changed due to injury. “El Cucuy” was set to face Khabib Nurmagomedov at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale back in December, but Nurmagomedov pulled out due an injury. Ferguson and Nurmagomedov were rescheduled to fight at UFC on FOX 19 in April, but this time, it was Ferguson who was injured and pulled out of the fight.
The UFC is currently seeking a replacement opponent for Ferguson.
UFC Fight Night 91 is set to take place on July 13 at Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
