Former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber retired from the sport of mixed martials arts last night, this following his dominant UFC on FOX 22 victory over Brad Pickett, which took place in front of Faber`s hometown crowd in Sacramento, California.
Shortly after earning the decisive victory, Faber`s former teammate and protégé TJ Dillashaw reached out to his former coach and mentor with the following message.
Dillashaw and Faber have butted heads in recent years, this after TJ left Team Alpha Male to pursue training in Colorado under the guidance of striking specialist Duane Ludwig.
Clearly Dillashaw still has a lot of respect for his former coach and mentor, who was influential in developing TJ in to the fighter he is today, a former UFC champion and top bantamweight contender.
TJ Dillashaw will return to action later this month at UFC 207 when he squares off with heavy hitter John Lineker at the pay-per-view in Las Vegas.
Do you think Dillashaw will be able to get past Lineker and earn himself a title shot at UFC 207, sound off PENN Nation!
